Beyond the Tower
My tower was my prison, until I betrayed my witch.
She told me twisted tales by the fireside and allowed me books that filled me with longing. That was my life. It was all I had.
‘Til one night, Paul heard me singing and convinced me to hope that we could escape together. Life could be different, if I had the courage to escape the witch’s grasp.
But she found and killed him. And she’s cast me out, alone. Without him. Without her.
I don’t know where to go, how to find food, or even who to trust in this strange world. But isn’t that what she wants? For me to beg her to take me back? I may know nothing of the world beyond my tower, except this.

Fine. If you can’t trust the men to act, then you must go to the High Queen. But the former Goose Girl has felt the sting of betrayal one too many times. Her plans of treachery may lose them the war before the sorceress even strikes.
Katterina and her friends must find their way to stopping the War of Sorcery, but only if they discover the traitor in their midst before it’s too late.

Before the maid realizes what it will cost her, she makes a promise to help the prince find his body. But his large, intimidating brother is suspicious of her. And his mother, who just happens to be the High Queen, accuses her of sorcery.
It’s enough to make a girl wish she was invisible as well as mute.
But returning to her life of obscurity is impossible. She needs to outrun the queen and find the prince’s body before it is too late. Only by working with the mouthy prince and his brother will she discover her true name. And there they will find the remnants of a war fought long ago. Remnants that have entangled their lives and must be severed, for once and for all.
